Job Title: Construction General Manager (NOC 0711)

Job Duties:
General Manager with strong leadership and project management skills.
Specific Duties:
• Plan, direct, control and monitor the timelines, deliverables, resources and milestones
involved in every construction project being undertaken by the company at various
locations in West Vancouver, North Vancouver, Sunshine Coast, and Lower mainland of
BC.
• Ensure that all commitments of the company in terms of schedules, costs, deliverables
and milestones including project completion dates are met in a timely manner and
within approved budgets.
• Minimize risks for the company through close monitoring of expenses and costs as well
as ensuring that the company remains compliant with all government regulations.
• Establish monthly, quarterly and annual goals and objectives for the company and
formulate or approve policies to achieve these goals or objectives.
• Manage the allocation of material, human and financial resources to implement and
finish contracts and projects.
• Approve budgets, material resources and manpower for individual contracts and
projects.
• Supervise staff and ensure their safety at all times.
• Supervise training and mentoring of staff.
• Control the final structural drawings to the needs of the customers of the company
• Approve schedules for staff to ensure that project schedules are not affected by
absences.
• Responding and solving the execution engineers’ problems.
• Coordinate various construction projects ongoing at different locations West Vancouver,
North Vancouver, Sunshine Coast, and Lower mainland of BC.
• Represent the company during project and contract negotiations.
• Negotiate with vendors and suppliers to get the best costing for materials and
resources.
• Resolve issues that may arise concerning individual contracts and projects.
Minimum requirements:
• Having the necessary technical and education to solve construction problems that occur
during the implementation of the projects
• Demonstrated experience in managing multiple construction projects and multiple
construction sites.
• Demonstrated experience in managing and supervising construction personnel and
staff.
• Demonstrated experience in contract negotiations for construction projects
• Demonstrated experience and knowledge of construction and building regulations and
standards.
• Skills and experience related to residential construction.
• Strong communication skills to be able to communicate with clients and personnel
• Willing to travel frequently between project sites within West Vancouver, North
Vancouver, Sunshine Coast, and Lower mainland of BC.
Job requirements
Languages: English
Experience: at least 5 years of experience; OR at least 7 years of experience in lieu of education
Ability to Supervise: 5-10 people

Personal Suitability: Organized, Effective interpersonal skills, Judgement, Team player
Education: A University degree in civil engineering/architecture or college diploma in
construction technology is an asset
